Privacy

No accounts, no forms and nothing to sign in to. Visits are counted, but only as totals, and only by the company that serves the site. One decoration can use your camera, and only if you press the button that asks. The rest of this page says exactly what all of that means.
Cookies, and what the browser keeps
No cookies. Nothing here sets one and nothing here reads one.
One thing is kept, and it is worth saying plainly. Moving between pages without a full reload, the site notes how far down each one you had scrolled, so going back lands where you left off rather than at the top. Your browser calls that session storage. It belongs to this tab alone and is thrown away when you close it, nothing ever sends it anywhere, and there is no identifier in it, which is why there is still no consent banner to dismiss.
Page views
Counted, but not by anything on this page. Cloudflare serves the site and records each request as it handles it, the way any web server writes a log. What we look at is the daily summary it produces from that. How many requests arrived, how many were page loads, roughly how many separate visitors there were, and how much data was sent.
Those are totals for a whole day. They do not say which pages any one person opened or in what order, and there is nothing in them that leads back to you. No script runs to produce them, no cookie is set, and nothing is kept in your browser.
Errors
Nothing from your browser. If a script on this page fails, the error stays with you and is reported nowhere. Faults in the software that serves the site are reported to us, and every request does pass through it, so an ordinary visit can produce one if something is broken. What gets sent is the fault itself and the address asked for, with the query string removed. Not who you are, not your cookies, and nothing your browser sent with the request.
The camera, and the tilt
The band along the bottom catches the light as though you were moving a piece of foil. To do that it needs to know roughly where you are. On a phone it reads the tilt, which the browser reports without being asked and which says nothing about you. On anything else there is a button that asks for the camera, and it does nothing at all unless you press it.
If you do press it, the picture is used to find roughly where your head is on the screen and nothing else. It is never recorded, never shown to anyone, and never leaves your device. Pressing the button again switches the camera off. Refusing it, or never pressing it, leaves the band moving on its own.
Hosting
Cloudflare serves the site, so your request reaches Cloudflare's servers the way it would reach any web server, including your IP address and whatever your browser sends with every request. What Cloudflare does with that is covered by Cloudflare's own privacy terms. Nothing is sent anywhere else, and no script on this page sends anything at all.
The private links
Two of the icons along the bottom lead to pages only we can open, one for the wiki and one for the admin. Signing in goes through Cloudflare and GitHub, and each of those decides what it records when you do. There is nothing behind either one for a visitor, and following one does not create an account or leave anything behind.
Sharing
Nothing here is sold or shared. The daily totals are ours alone, and the only other company involved in an ordinary visit is Cloudflare, because it is the one serving you the page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date at the top.
